This has solidified as one of my favourite movies of all time. In fact, I firmly believe it’s one of the best movies ever made. The story is heart gripping, transcending both language and culture with brilliant acting and captivating performance. You have to know for a fact that if an actor is able to make you root for them or hate them, then they’re definitely talented. With the cast consisting of renowned actors such as Nakadai Tetsuya and Tamba Tetsuro, the characters delivered a performance that makes you feel almost every human emotion. Not only that, they were able to tackle and discuss a major issue that was very prominent during the Edo period in Japan. I’m trying to write as vaguely as possible because I watched the movie with no background, expecting it to be a normal samurai movie, but I was blown away by the stellar cinematography. If you’re alive and have 2 hours to spare, then you must watch this movie.
