Out of all genres, this was in the genre (romance and fantasy) I least expected myself to dip my toes in. The Letters of Enchantment duology is a series that covers two books, Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows. They were recommended to me to read and read them I did. Also, enjoyed them, I did. The series really pulled me in after the first few chapters. The author built the world with rich lore that makes it come to life, even though it’s very subtle and vague. Character development is this book is its key strength. Witnessing the trials they’re put through as they develop made it feel real. The writing is very charming, witty, and engaging. However, this being a rivals-turned-lovers story, I personally wish we saw more of the rivalry because it felt rushed – which resulted in the love feeling a bit rushed. To add to that, the pacing felt off at times, either being too fast or a drag to go through. But that didn’t detract much from the overall experience as the story is very enjoyable. Overall, it is a very good read, I would definitely recommend it!
