Pluto is based on Naoki Urasawa’s reimagining of Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy. The show stands out for its deep character exploration and sensitive handling of themes like discrimination through human-robot relations. The plot is full of mystery and emotion, with each character crafted with depth, which enables them to significantly impact the overarching narrative. I can’t say more without spoiling the plot. In my opinion, the series starts very strong up until the last episode where the ending felt a little bit rushed. This made the payoff of the buildup across the entire season feel a bit stale and not as gratifying. Overall, it is a brilliant watch that requires some degree of observation.
